Director BIOGRAPHY:

Ghafar Azad was born in 1985 in Afghanistan. He completed his Higher Education before graduating from the Teacher Training Institute. In 2006 he attended the Afghan TOLO Filmmaker Lab, conducted by J. F. Lawton (Hollywood Writer, Director and Producer) and Atiq Rahimi(Afghan-French Writer, Director) Ghafar studying Screenplay Writing, Directing, Editing, and Camera.

In 2008, Ghafar was invited by AFA (Asian film Academy 2008) to attend a film training workshop in South Korea. Upon his return to Moby Media Group, Ghafar was asked to direct a new Series for Lemar TV – ABC.

In 2009 he was invited by the Stayajit Ray Film Institute, Kolkata in India to participate in a film training course. Since that time he has directed Salam Drama (Seasons 1 & 2) for Lemar TV; and the hugely popular action police drama, Oqaab Chaar(Eagle Four) for TOLO TV, and this drama got the (Special Jury Prize – Seoul Drama Awards, south Korea). After that Ghafar directed the black comedy drama series (the ministry) for TOLO TV,

In 2011 Ghafar was selected to take part in the Sheffield Doc Fest Market, part of the Sheffield Documentary Festival.

His own short films blue Hope, Hell, Heaven, Hill, a Letter to Light, End of story, In Parentheses,

His film (A Letter to Light) won two award best edit and Special Jury prize for innovation and empiricism in the film in Human Rights film festival Kabul 2011 and won three award best film, best narration and best film based on Audience vote in Mehregan film festival Kabul 2014,

In 2012, out of thousands of international applicants Ghafar was selected to take part in the Berlin Talent Campus in Germany. Ghafar worked as assistant director in feature film “Zwischen welten” (between world) directed by German director “Feo Aladag”, this film was in competition of Berlin International film festival, Germany 2014,

In mid of 2014 Ghafar Azad Graduated from University of southern (Cinema and art department) in CA, USA,

Sadam Wahidi was born at 1991 in Kabul, Graduated from Istequlal High School, then studied undergraduate degree (agriculture) at Kabul University.
When Sadam was 9 years old, He started working at BBC Radio AEP as actor and announcer in the children programs.


Sadam Wahidi directed his first experimental film (36 minute) when he was 14 years old. During school period He participated in many TV Commercials, after 2010 he played in two feature films and two TV serials (Our Street‐ 2011‐2013 and Shereen‐2016).
He has been worked as Director assistant, Project manager and producer in many feature films and TV Dramas.



Sadam Wahidi established an independent film production (Rumi Films Production) in 2014 wrote and directed (You are not American) short film in 2015, (Mary Mother) short film in 2016 and (The Luck Bird) short film in 2017.
His films officially selected for competition mote than 60 international film festivals and won 14 international awards yet.

Khadim Hussain Byhname, director trilogy movie of (Saadad is going to Shrine) which has won three awards for best film in Afghanistan’s human rights film festival in 2013, Best fiction film in Tajikistan’s Didor international film festival l in 2014 and won the 2015 London International Festival. Khadim Hussain studied and learned cinematography in University of Kabul and created a group of cinematic (image of thought) with a number of his friends and is now one of the most active groups in Afghanistan and registered 20 films in their workbook. Khadim Hussain’s films are mostly about native Afghans and are based mainly on the subjects related to children and women.

Fazila Amiri is an Afghan‐Canadian writer, director. She has a BFA in film from NSCAD University, and currently she is an MFA Candidate in Film Production at York University in TORONTO. As an independent filmmaker, Her short films Paaizeb (2010), My Motherland (2015), The Knot (2012) have been shown at national and international film festivals including the 41st Montreal World Film Festival (Canada), 31st Atlantic Film Festival (Canada), and Aga Khan Museum (Toronto), ETC.



Currently Fazila is on pre‐production for her first feature documentary film, Hip Hop Kabul, and on festival circuit of her latest short films, The Photograph (2017).

Mohammad Reza Minapour was born in 1990, Boukan,West Azarbayjan,Iran started his film career with an animation called ” The Window”. He has made two documentary movies, he received some awards for these movies. He received the judge committee special award of Anifesta Rozafa Albania for a documentary called “Nier is tomorrow”. And received best director award in west azarbayjan province festival for the movie ” A time for the tranquility”. Minapour has been graduated in Karnameh school in major of sound editing, designing and mixing. Producer: Maher Jamous


Maher Jamous is a producer, a director and the general manager of LAISART Production. He was born in 1976

Hama, Syria. He finished his BSc. degree in Law in 1998. Maher worked as an editor for ten years before running

LAISART in 2005.

With over twenty years of experience, Maher is a highly-skilled producer and documentary filmmaker who brings

advanced production expertise and international business acumen. Maher has produced and directed a number of

provocative documentaries that explore political issues for many TV Channels like Al-Jazeera. He is currently

focusing on the Syrian situation and preparing a number of films that shed light on the humanitarian situation in

the region.



Director: Alfoz Tanjour


Alfoz Tanjour was born in Syria in 1975. He studied Filmmaking at the Academyof Fine Arts in the Republic of Moldova from 2000 to 2004. Since graduating, he has made several projects as director, director of photography, editor, including more than fifteen documentaries. Alfoz’s short film ‘A Little Sun’ (2007) won Tanit of Bronze at the Carthage Film Festival in 2008 and a Special Jury Mention in the Love International Film Festival in Mons, Belgium in 2009. His documentary version of (Wooden Rifle) took Public Liberties & Human rights Award in 9th Aljazeera International Documentary Film Festival 2013 and “Gold Panda” as Best Asian Production Award in 2014 at the International “Gold Panda” Documentary Festival.
